22nd Birthday. Thursday, July 24, 2014 | 0 comment[s] "I don't know about you, but I'm feeling 22 - wuuuu." ー Taylor Swift  Hehehe. It's finally my time of the year to toast and yay-yay for my trivial existence on mother earthy. Ironic as it sounds, I am so, so thankful and blessed for the loved ones in my life. Can't and wouldn't wanna imagine my place here without these lovely people. Had a truly delightful 22 thanks to all the kind thoughts and sweet efforts! Sometimes I feel I don't deserve what I'm blessed with cause I'm just another immature, emotional and infantile girl who brings pain to people. (Okay sorry, I know I can be classed an ageing lady now lolol). Though I consider myself matured heaps compared to the past, I don't even wish to recall how rotten or naive a person I was in my younger days. Don't you wish you could unwind time and change or undo the things you did, or spill the words you sunk so deep and never had the chance or guts to say? "Don't look back with regret, look forward with hope." So here I am, trying to make my days, my life and myself as person, better, wiser and stronger each day. What's with all these heartfelt, sophisticated words from peiwen ah? Haha. Just some words I had to get out. (And yes, I pour these personally to the people I love too cause' I've learnt how to cherish the hard way, and I never want to lose anyone ever again.) Hehe shall halt it right there. Here's peektures and nitty-gritty for my two-two celebration! (*≧▽≦)  . . . 15th July, my 'chinese' birthday. Lolol to be honest I never knew when's my Chinese birthday cause it falls on a different date every year and I can't read the Chinese calendar for nuts :P Here's meesua, hard-boiled egg egg and angbao from dearest mummy!  Please just hang in there for a few more years, 我会让你享福的！ Graduating in two years' time. Pressing on for my family and the future that I'm envisioning. I'd be as good as nothing without my mum. No amount of thanks is ever enough for all the things she has done and bear of me. 等我 ♥ . . . 16th July, with my favourite 'aunties'!   The first bunch to date me out for my two-two. Hehe. We labelled ourselves 'the aunties' after our freshmen camp and I couldn't recall why (*≧▽≦) Really thankful for our close friendship undeterred by the cumulating years. (♥) Aloha Ma Maison for dinner and their mains were really good!  These fries comes with three dips. Chilli, mayonnaise and chocolate sauce! Lolol chocolate dipped fries are highly, highly addictive. Curry rice I ordered came with the meatiest tonkatsu I've ever eaten! Wahhh so crispy, thick and juicy. Ohmygosh * slurp slurp * You can share this with two cause the serving is pretty huge. Hehe. ₍₍ ◝(・ω・)◟ ⁾⁾ Off to cakey and pudding treat @ Paris Baguette Cafe after which ~ Thank you so muchie for the treat treat aunties.   Thankies for the presents toooooo! Renfang auntie for the sweater and yumyum frozen dried fruities, and Mandy auntie for the sweet sweet letter and cute pinky tumbler!   "I've trained to be more thick-skinned to deal with you." All my weird, nonsensical gestures, remarks and doings.. I guess that's something all my close friends have toughened up on over the years. Hehe!  . . . 17th July, with my dearest, favorite, beloved banana! (♥) Met her up at To-Gather Cafe after my basketball CCA. Had some really enjoyable friendly matches with my little school boys. Two words for the food here. CHEAP AND GOOD. Flavoursome mains and desserts priced at less than 10 bucks. Entirely worth it for the quality you are served with.  Yumyumyum. Had our tumtums filled and got thrown a pleasant surprise (*^▽^*) Ahkamz and Ahhui came with in with candle-lighted cakeys for Kexin and myself! Hehehe.  "Do what makes you happy, be with who makes you smile, laugh as much as you breathe, love as long as you live. EAT AS MUCH AS YOU WANT." Word! Hehehe. May our friendship continue to blossom till we're all old and wrinkly wrinkly ~ (*＾＾*)  'Shitting Club' girlies (♥) Always so much to blabber and share whenever we meet up! Hehehe yay yay! * fireworks boom boom * It's a Friday, and I had contact time in school till 6 in the evening ╥﹏╥ Wasn't actually that bad cause our principal is one such of a hilarious dude lolol. Made it so bearable with all the "stand-up comedy" infused in the large-scale serious meeting. Picked up by the boy in his tututu car car and off we went to nomnomz!! He refused to reveal the plans lined for me cause' he felt he already ruined my birthday gift surprise lolol. Just thinking of what he did makes me wanna tickle him (◍•ᴗ•◍)❤ * Series of long story that I am too lazy to recount * So.. Yalo! Received this charming prezzie from him few days in advance.   Told him I don't don't don't don't don't need anything swanky or expensive, but boy. He's a tough nut to crack. Haha. This is still nicely intact in the box even though it's like almost a week past my birthday.. Just can't bear to use something that pricey on myself lolol. Everything I wear or have on me is either cheap or from mad sales. There are times when I head out with my mum and she'd go: "Your clothes, $10?" Your skirt $15? Shoes, $20?" Yumyum fooooooood! The boy had English breakfast and I had Belgian waffles with fruits and coconut cream!   小可爱和他的面包包 ｡◕‿◕｡ Mega sumptuous dinner treat and off we went to the next destination! Hehe. (Boyboy refused to divulge where we were headed to again, meh).  And ohhhh-hoho! Was sooooo happy when we got here cause I've always always always wanted to create and try my own DIY Magnum ice cream. Brings me over the moon!   Happiness was at it's peak upon annihilating this toothsome sweet course hehe. (And yea he paid for this too cause he insisted I can't fork a single cent for the day). Walked down the street to admire Marina Bay Sands light show and Mr Merlion. Chatted for quite awhile and decided to stroll over to Esplanade // floating platform. NDP theme songs on blasting speakers incited some nasty sugar rush LOLOL. Here's me unable to tame myself lolololol. Was bout 11pm when we got back to the car, supposed to head home but he drove me to his house instead meowww ~ Swear I didn't realize that until we're at like Tampines. Huge-ass Haagen Daz whole ice-cream cake from the boy! Photos are in the boy's phone, shall upload it when I get it from him hehe. Too sweet a birthday spent with him ♥ Always making sure that I get the best, always wanting to give me what I want, always wanting to make me the happiest girl, always looking out and taking care of me because I suck at taking care of myself. So selfless, doting and affectionate. This man is legitimately the best man anyone can ever find out there. Wouldn't wanna ask for anything more or trade for anything else. ♥ So blessed. This xiaodidi working with her had no idea I was her friend and went like: "Hi Mam, this way please." NOOOOOOOOOOO .·´¯`(>▂<)´¯`·. I got so chao lao anot? Hahahahah. Old liao lo old liao lo.  Tomato Cream Omu Rice @ Hoshino Coffee! Yumyumz hehe.  Peekture with Xingying before leaving for Aranda Country Club to sing sing songs!   Enjoyable k-session here, learnt a handful of new mandarin songs lolol. Currently addicted to Lin Jun Jie's 林俊傑 - Practice Love 修煉愛情. Hehehe. Casual stroll over to White Sands shopping mall, wandered around aimlessly searching for a place to makan and half the girls disappeared and reappeared again with a cake LOL. Kinda funny how it all went out cause they plainly just gave up the 'surprise' and lighted the candles in-front-but-backfacing us LOL. AND NONONOOOOO. 2 months of holiday flew by in such an unthinkable flash. Teaching assistantship started officially on Monday, 5 weeks let's go! Terribly unprepared, inferior and worried. Oh god please please please do a good job peiwen. (All the karma accumulated since secondary school is prolly gonna smack me hard in my fat face lolol). First week has been kind and easy on me. Hoping for the best for the coming 4 weeks ahead! Got posted to basketball for my CCA, happy is an understatement hehe. Hope I can get the chance to coach and have some friendly matches with the students!  Still very much submerged in holiday mood. I'd say my holiday has been well-spent encircling myself with people I love. Heading out for good food, chit-chatty catch-ups and sleepovers with plenty of time to unwind myself in all the things I love doing. Can never get enough of such stress-free pleasure. Photos for sharing! ... .. . The amount of food I had with boyfriend alone this holiday probably weighs a good ton. Boyboy's cute cute (or act cute LOL) face and there's my idiotic gullible look. That's a free LeNu balloon from LeNu. Shall try their beef noodles soon hehe. LOL it's funny how Sean's Dota2 IGN is LeMoO which also means LeNu (樂牛) lolololol. Bad English. Very lousy. Such failure. Much wow. Lolololol. Loving this doge shit.  Seoul Yummy @ Bugis+  Not a biggie fan of korean foodie, but always wanted to give this a try :) Love love love the fried kimchi dumplings! Army Stew with assorted meat (chicken, beef and pork) was pretty average. The luncheon meat tasted like spam LOL. Overall still, a rather satisfying meal though a tad bit pricy. Wanted the patbingsu for dessert but their machine broke down lololol. Had this green tea mochi jelly with red bean instead. Sweet, really sweet. Another date, another feast. We're like feasting every single date, gosh....... Sushi Express! $1.50 per sushi plate. The time limit per person is usually 45 minutes lolol. But we sat in for like 2 hours odd cause it was off peak (bout 8 P.M+ in the evening). Good stuff, but clearly unmatched with those huge, authentic, juicy and meaty ones I had in Japan.  Lola's Cafe! Lolol this cozy (and always fully-packed) cafe's opened by my friend's pal. Young, successful entrepreneurs. Oh and look at me, doing nothing to myself. Only marvelling at how these youngsters of my age ascend to the top of the ladder.. * smacks face * Anyways, the boy was the one who drove me here cause he wanted to give their wings a go! (He usually checks for reviews or recommended dishes before heading to the nomnomz he wants). Swear by name this is hands down one outrageously good serving of wings in the heartland. Sooooo crispy and flavorful, the paprika flakes and honey made this whole plate fit for king. Yumyum. Cheese fries tasted ordinary. Try their truffle fries if you drop by (haven't tried it myself though), it's highly raved!  Oh yes, yet another date. Downed a double down each and one-for-one Starbucks strawberry cheesy cake // tiramisu frappe. Omg double down is like one heavenly fatty therapy that brings you to cloud nine but adds on 9 free happy pounds to the scale LOL. Felt like little pigs after all these junk.. But shiok! Hehehe. Sean says we're not little pigs but big piggies. Oink oink.  Many more foodie pics at the back of my phone, shall start updating on foodie blog officially after straightening things out. (And getting myself back on track). Here's the good old peeps I've hung out with during the holiday. These girls were the first to meet me when I came back from Japan! Brought me to Timbre for my duck pizza cause I'm the ONLY one who haven't tried it. "Omg how can you not try Timbre's roasted duck pizza?!" And I was like "I know right, how am I even a foodie." Lolol yes and they brought me to Timbre @ The Arts House! I suggest hitting the place at early 6 P.M to avoid pesky crowd, or just drop a call to secure some reserved seats.  Oh finally, look!  We settled on duckie and seafood pizza. (Half half mix mix!) Love love love the roasted duck pizza and the generous chips ladened on the pizza top. Unique sauce spreaded on cheesy base, all nicely lodged on a crispy thin crust. How much more have I been missing out? Haha. The buffalo wings were dope too. Savoury and well-marinated! The tinge of spiciness and tender meat brings pure bliss to the fatty tumtum. (Truffle fries was.. Nothing out of the ordinary.) Had a great time catching up with these beautiful three who I rant to so-very-often in school. School sucks, but no a working life actually sucks more. I love my job though. Hehe. ... .. . With another group of poly friends for nomz and chat @ Changi Village. Wing Kee Ipoh Hor Fun @ Changi Food Centre! Had their signature chicken cutlet horfun and wahhhhhh! Chicken cutlet - awesome. Hor fun noodles and suace - good. Chill - spicy and awesome. Overall - SO. AWESOME. They actually pack the cutlet in a separate bag if you order takeaway. Yay to awesome crispy chickeny cutlet to savour at the ease of our comfy homes!  Headed over to next block down the street for some coffee! Weather was so ruthlessly hot then. Chock Full of Beans! Say hi to popeyes the sailorman! You can try requesting for the coffee art of your choice! I asked for a pikachu once and they gave it to me lololol. And the next time we shall conquer and get our faces up on hall of fame hehe.  Were so sore with the consecutive losses we headed for some yumyum cakey nearby! They had this the other time when I pangseh-ed them and they brought me here again cause it was gooooood! Here's my glorious cake in a jar from Grin Affair. (Everton Park) Got myself 'Cookies & Cream'!  This was sooooooo good that I almost cried. I can easily down like 3 jars of this at one go. Will definitely head back to try hazelnut and dark chocolate! Thanks to the 'qwerty' boys for bringing me here. Fun day @ Phantom Joker Escape though we failed everything hehe lolol. ... .. . Next group of awesome people.. My uni club! Laughter outbursts are indispensable with this bunch. The thing I love most about them is that THEY LOVE FOOD!!!!!! (And no, of course I love them more for being nice and kind too hehe). Super love food hunts with this spontaneous bunch because we get to savour soooo many dishes at many different cafes. Oh come onnnnnn. Loosen up! (They probably aren't even half pleased / impressed lolol).  Banged the day off with dinner at NamNam Noodle House! I love rice noodles. And I love phooooo hehe. I ordered NamNam seafood noodles and the aunties had pho for the first time! They loved it too hehe. Then again there are people out there who claim: "One that says NamNam is nice haven't tried the REAL pho at all." Yes I will, slowlyyyyyyyy one at a time. Hehe. But for now this is the best pho I've ever had lo! OH. AND YES. Their crispy fried prawn & pork rolls were simply divine. A must try side dish at NamNam!!!!!!!! MUST. ... .. .
