Japan Day 3 - Lake Kawaguchiko
Tuesday, June 10, 2014 | 0 comment[s]

Day 3, to Lake Kawaguchiko!

Woke up rather early in the morning, packed, checked out of Grand Hyatt Hotel,
and took the hotel coach down to Osaka Station City once again.

Day 3 was also the day we lugged our luggage all around for the longest time in our entire trip :P

Were bent on trying McDonald's in Japan and we remembered there's one
in the underground railway station that we will be passing by, so yepyep!

Changed a couple of trains and here we are!
This was located really close to the Shinkansen ticketing office so yay-yay to convenience :)

Everything on the board menu was exactly identical to what we have in Singapore except for this!

Mega Sausage-seto!
* Plus the fact that I love hotdogs belly belly muchie. *  (♥)

So hanar.. I bought this of course LOLOL.
Why buy something that you can have in Singapore hor? Teehee XD

The prices are slightly cheaper here too!

The boy got the biggest breakfast muffin (Mega Muffin) available and he said Japan's
breakie muffin tasted so much better compared to the ones in Singapore.

Had to agree on this cause' even their coffee and hashbrowns were distinctly good!
Tumtums filled, off to get our Shinkansen tickets to...... I forgot where.. Ops lolol @_@

Forgive me!!! Here's a mandatory shot of the bullet train hehe.
Virgin ride! It actually feels pretty normal unless you're standing up?
Cause I felt giddy walking down the cabin to search for my seat when it moved lolol.

While waiting for the bullety train to arrive hehe.
Shameless non-selfie #1.

Decent selfie #2. ♥

Oh and yes! We did a little shopping during the spare time we had before the ride.
The ride to our next station takes 2 hours so we had our snacks supply stocked up (^ᴗ^)۶

Bought sandwhiches and a handful boxes of sweets and crunchies for nibbling.

The only thing we could do during the 2 hours ride was enjoy the scenery and EAT.
This Osaka banana was!!!!!! Disappointing ~ (▰˘︹˘▰)

Not even half as good as Tokyo banana lolol .__.

Reached the station (of which the name I forgot) and here's shameless non-selfie #2 LOL.
I don't know, but I actually liked dragging my luggage around, moving to different places.

Loving the first and new experience.

So.. Sought advice from the information counter and they told us we could
only arrive at Lake Kawaguchiko earliest at about 4 or 5pm (via public transport).

Wahhhhh that's crazy cause' we would be left with peanut amount of time to explore :(
And we only had one day to spare at Lake Kawaguchiko..  (✖╭╮✖)

Deliberated for a bit and decided on cabbing down.
Got a really kind cabby uncle who went through the trouble of calling different hotlines for help.
He did not know the directions to our hotel and needed some address code for his GPS..

Thank god he managed to straighten everything out and drove us safely
for more than 2 hours to our destination. So thankful!

"Do you need the toilet? If you do give my shoulder a tap and I will drive faster."
LOLOLOL. He said that while tapping his own shoulder.
How cute and thoughtful? Haha.

The cabby uncle could speak purely only Japanese so
I was mainly the one doing all the communicating and translating.

Truly amazed at how I managed with this poor Japanese standard of mine.
Wah, I even asked the uncle if he wanted some sandwhich
cause it was lunch time and it's a long drive.

I HESITATED SO LONG BEFORE ASKING I ALMOST DIED.
Was trying to recall and phrase the right way to ask so I don't sound like a dumbo.
Lololololololol nyaaaaaaaaaaaaaabumaliiiiiikaaaaahsdjhakdhjksahdka (; ̄д ̄)

Okay, anyway here's the sandwhich LOL.
Doesn't taste as good as it looks though!

Maybe cause we bought and kept it for more than half a day.
Most of the hot-selling sandwhiches that we wanted were sold out too ~~~

I slept through half the ride and woke up with my saliva all nicely decorated on my face LOLOLOL.
Stinks man HAHAHAH. Oi, saliva can never smell good la, you know!!! And I know. LOL.....

(*≧▽≦)ノシ

A glimpse of Mount Fuji on the cab as we near our destination.
Cabby uncle told us the weather today is largely cloudy so we may not get to see Fuji-san T_T

Sobsobs. But it's okay!! A little is better than none.
The scenery here is just unbelievably amazing.
So serene, tranquil and exhilarating.

Bloop! Here we are at Kosuien Hotel ヽ(=^・ω・^=)丿
This is the view from the hotel entrance.

It's located all the way up on a hill!

Was a little tricky getting the car up the steep slope, but we made it!!!

YAY! HEHEHE.

Cab fees amounted to about 25,000¥ + lolololol. * feeling the burn *
This is like spending money to buy time.

Worth it. ~(>y<)

...
..
.

Settled the check-in and yesyes this is our room for the night! Soooooo beautiful.
Totally adore the traditional concept and I love dee-lams (floor mattresses)!!!

LOL, I grew up sleeping on those.

The view from our hotel room was likewise captivating.
Wah ~ Just stood there all stoned for awhile.. Really couldn't believe our eyes.

Locked our luggage in the room and quickly!!!!!!! Went off to explore hehe.
It was about late 2pm then. Much better than 5pm please.

Lots can be done within 3 hours lo hehe.

Spring period over, here's the closest I could find to a sakura from our 7 days trip.. LOL.
It's okay! Will definitely be back in Japan for Hanami and more adventure ( ´ᗨ `͈) ~

Tumbled down the steep hill (LOL no we didn't tumble) and the view was!!!!!!!!!!!

The boy wanted to go to this Tenjō-Yama Park Mt. Kachi Kachi Ropeway so here we are!
The place closes at 5 pm and it's just 5 minutes walk away from our hotel ^^

Bought round trip tickets cause we didn't wanna hike down (save time save time) hehe.

Took the aerial lift (something like a cable car but there's only one, and it's larger!) up
and ascended more than 400 metres from the eastern shore of Lake Kawaguchiko.

Snapped this upon alighting the cabin.
Omg just look at the view!

Imma gonna stop describing or caption-ing these scenic shots cause I've
ran out of adjectives in my mind to express them liao okay? LOLOL.

But omg this is really!!!!!!!!!!
This shot was taken further up on the observation deck :)

Can you spot Fuji-Q (Fujikyu) Highland?
Really wanted to try the mad rolly coasters there but.. Time constraint ate it up NOOOOOMZ T____T

Looking at it from the deck made me a little little sad. Just a little.. Meow.

I have no idea what is this but I saw people trying to throw coins through the hoop!
Not sure if it has to go through the line of rope behind too neh?

It's for good luck I think!

Accidental shot of the boy but it's kinda cool so..
Hehe that's the Manchester United jacket I got him for Christmas

Some bell for couples to ring ring!
Yepyep, we rang it together ^^

So pretty right!
The natural sun flare brings this to a whole new level LOLOL.

Oh! And there's a shop here that sells Mount Fuji snacks like nuts, biscuits and dried fruits.
DANGOS AND GREEN TEA TOOOOOOO!

First time having an authentic dango in Japan and I didn't know it's barbecued!
These are baked by the heat till golden brown then dipped and coated in sweet sauce!

So sweet and chewy and gooooooood. I'm a carbs lover haha.

Final product of the dango (^ᴗ^)۶
It even has the Fuji-san logo stamped on! Aww ~~~~

Erm.. Trying to blend in with these cutey usagi and tanuki LOLOL.

Climbed the stairs up to observation deck 3 anddddddddd.
Yet another mind-blowing scenery.

Oh, yes. An angmoh couple requested my help for a shot behind this backdrop and..
Whalau their reaction I don't know is I take nice or not nice leh?
Sobsobz, this bothered me for maybe like 3 minutes.

Then I turned around after like 5 minutes and saw them taking a selfie with the same backdrop.
Can laaaaaaaa I lousy la ヽ(´□`。)ノ  LOL.

HARROW ~~~~~~~ Shameless selfie #3 LOL.

With the boyboy!
The sun looks scorching hor? Was actually extremely cold and cooling up there.

Anyway we just stood and leaned on the deck with some Japanese aunties
who were so high-spirited despite the cloudy weather haha.

They sang songs and even made cheers for the clouds to
quickly disperse so they could see Mount Fuji. Too cute!

Man, I thought the -san in Fuji-san was an honorific suffix.
Omg I am truly horrified at myself to know that the -san refers to 山 and not that -san
like Peiwen-san, Sean-san or whatever -san that you use to address PEOPLE.

LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL.

~(>_<~)

I can't believe I was told off and laughed by the boy for this.
AND HE DIDN'T EVEN LEARN JAPANESE!!!!!
I'm destined to be klutz for life. Clumsy in person and also in the brain.

Waited for quite a bit till bout' 4.50 pm.
Could onlyyyyyyyy manage to see A LITTLE of Fuji-san for like a few seconds.

Hahaha the aunties beside us got so excited they kept shouting "Mieru mieru mieru! (見える)"

...
..
.

Heading back down!
Last shot before we bid goodbye to Kachi Kachi ropeway :)
* loving those sun flares again * lolol.

Back down, walked around the street shops and most of it were already closed ⊙︿⊙
Only 5pm leh! Shops in kawaguchiko wind up really really early..

Thank god for this bakery that was still open!
Their specialty is cheesecake ♥ .

Countless different kinds of cheesecake here and I got myself this!
The original rare cheese cake. It's refrigerated! Love love love cold cold cheesycakey hehe.
Would have lugged some back home for family and friends if I wasn't running low on cash.

And wahhhhh I tell you these are really to die for.
 SO GOOD SO GOOD!

Visited a few other shops that were open and bought some boxes of biscuits too hehe.
This Mount Fuji biscuit that I bought from Kachi Kachi Ropeway was really good also wor!
But I forgot to take a picture of it leh :( all nomnomz gobbled up by my family liao lo haha.

Also dropped by Lawson for some refreshments!
Lawson is like the 7-11 in Japan, can be seen and found almost anywhere and everywhere!

The thing I love about this convenience store are these handy little Starbucks drinks!
Cost only bout' $2+ SGD and it tastes as good!

New York non-sweet was perfect for a person like me who doesn't add sugar in her coffee or tea.
The matcha latte cup is also superrrrrr nice although a tad bit too sweet hehe.

Don't be mistaken!! I love sweety stuffs.
Just prefer to taste coffee and tea in its most original state hehe.

Walked along the roadway and saw many many other pretty houses and hotels.
Was getting reallyyyyyyyy hungry so we turned back for our hotel at about 6.30 (~ ̄▽ ̄)~

Dinner is served at 7pm in the hotel!

Walked by the lake on the way back and this beautiful bridge caught us by surprise hehe.

Pretty hor? Heh (•⌄•́)

See that building in the middle? It's our hotel!
And the ropeway that we were earlier is all the way on the right!

HEHE. Felt so blessed bear-hugging the boy going to / by all these lovely places.
The chilly air-con-like weather made everything even better.

But seriously! (✖ _✖)
Everytime when it reaches 6pm I'd start shivering like a loser cause it gets really really cold.

Dinner in this gorgeous and spacious room.
Again, loving the traditional concept.

Bento! The serving was really huge man.
Not in the picture: Salad, chawanmushi, vegetable soup, crab soup with crabs and fruits!

They gave us each a huge ass crab too.
I have no idea what part is this and I am not a biggy fan of crabby so I gave mine to Sean Sean.
Helped him cut and peel and all even though I'm not eating the crabby.

Good hor? Bleah haha.

Oh and this is something that I still...... Don't know how to appreciate.
I can never eat anything raw T___T tried it once and would never wanna try it again..

Taste weird and repelling for me leh.
Haha sorry to all sashimi fans. I'm just probably the one losing out here ( ´͈ ᗨ `͈ ) ~

Satisfying dinner, took a good long bath and oyasuminasai!
We both changed into this cutey attire (provided by the hotel) heh.

Headed down to the lobby to watch Dota 2 tournament qualifier matches
(computers with free wifi for hotel users) before knocking out.

LOOOOOOOOOOOOL. #gamersforlife ┏(`ー´)┛

Loving this 可爱, loving Japan :)

Back with day 4 and 5 soon! (*^▽^)/
Till then, take care, and be kind to one another!

Blessed and thankful.
